Privacy Policy

Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading these things. But here's the deal: we're gonna be straight with you about what info we collect and why. No legal jargon marathons, just honest conversation about how we handle your data.

When you reach out to us or fill out a contact form, we're gonna collect the basics - your name, email, phone number, and whatever details you share about your project. If you're visiting our office in Vancouver, we might grab your mailing address too.

Our website also picks up some technical stuff automatically - things like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you're checking out. It's pretty standard web analytics that helps us understand what's working and what isn't.

For clients working with us on actual projects, yeah, we'll need more detailed info - property details, budget ranges, design preferences. Can't really restore a heritage building without knowing which building we're talking about, right?

Honestly? We use it to do our job. That means responding to your inquiries, sending project proposals, scheduling site visits, and keeping you updated on your project's progress.

Sometimes we'll send newsletters showcasing recent projects or updates about sustainable architecture practices - but only if you've given us the green light. We're not into spamming people's inboxes.

The analytics data helps us improve the website experience. Like, if everyone's bouncing off a particular page, that's our cue to make it better. We're architects - we're kinda obsessed with improving things.

We don't sell your data. Period. That's not our business model and frankly, it's a bit sketchy.

That said, we do work with some third-party services - email providers, cloud storage for project files, that sort of thing. They might see your info, but they're bound by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations to keep things confidential.

For active projects, we'll share relevant details with contractors, engineers, or other professionals involved in bringing your vision to life. But we're talking strictly need-to-know basis here.

If there's a legal requirement - like a court order or regulatory request - we'll comply. We're in Canada, so we follow Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and all that jazz).

Yeah, we use cookies - the digital kind, not the tasty ones from the bakery down the street (though those are pretty good too).

They help us remember your preferences, track how you navigate the site, and generally make things work smoothly. Most browsers let you control cookie settings if you're not into that.

We use Google Analytics to understand visitor patterns. It's anonymized data, so we're looking at trends, not stalking individuals. If you want to opt out, there's browser extensions for that.

It's your data, so you've got options. You can ask us what info we have on you, request corrections if something's wrong, or tell us to delete it altogether.

Wanna unsubscribe from our newsletter? There's a link at the bottom of every email. Or just shoot us a message and we'll handle it.

For active projects, we'll need to keep certain records for legal and professional reasons - think building permits, contracts, that kind of thing. But once a project's wrapped and the retention period's up, we clear it out.

If you've got concerns about how we're handling your data, reach out to us directly. We're real people who actually read emails, not some automated corporate fortress.

We take security seriously - encrypted connections, secure servers, regular backups, all the standard best practices. Our project files are stored in protected cloud systems with access limited to team members who need it.

That said, no system's 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but the internet being what it is, we can't guarantee absolute security. If there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP and tell you what happened.

Physical documents at our Vancouver office are kept in locked cabinets. Old-school security still works.

We might update this policy from time to time - new regulations, changes in how we operate, whatever. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here.

For major changes, we'll probably send an email heads-up to folks on our contact list. We're not gonna pull any sneaky stuff.

Got questions about this policy or how we handle your info? Don't hesitate to reach out. Seriously.

We're usually pretty quick to respond. If you've got a complex privacy request, give us a few business days to sort it out properly.

Bottom Line

We respect your privacy the same way we respect heritage buildings - with care, attention, and a commitment to preservation. If something here doesn't sit right with you, let's talk about it.
